Synopsis
In Ormbabija, the soul of a kindred speaks through the restless spirit of a young boy. Born in the bustling city of Port-Harcourt but rooted in the rich soil of Mbachohon District of Gwer -West, Ormbabija is brought back to his ancestral home after years away. Nick-named after his kindred, Mbabibja, the boy begins a journey of rediscovery in the quiet village of Tse-Awunah Chiba Mbachohon, under the watchful care of his wise and loving grandmother, Mama Uember. As she gently guides him through the customs, tales and tradition of his people, Ormbabija's curiousity leads him into both wander and danger. From a spine-chilling encounter with the feared snake-god of Mbamegh-Akem to the sharp sting of a scorpion on the farm, his adventures become rites of passage that awakens in him a deep connection to his heritage. A touching and mystical tale of identity, tradition and the sacred bond between generations, Ormbabija invites readers into the heart of a culture where names, stories and paths through the land hold meanings.
