Synopsis
This is a book containing mystical writings of Sufism by the great Sufi Shaykh, Imam Rabbani Mujaddid Alf-i-Sani Ahmad Sirhindi (d. 1034 AH), collected by one of his khalifas. Mabda' wa Ma'ad (مبدأ ومعاد) is an Arabic phrase meaning "origin and return" or "the beginning and the end" and refers to the ultimate source or beginning from which everything originates, which is God and the return of all creatures to their origin, back to God, after their existence in this world. It is a concept in Islamic philosophy and Sufism, representing the idea that God is the origin of all existence and the ultimate destination for all beings. The phrase is also the title of several philosophical and mystical works, most notably by authors such as Ibn Sina (Avicenna) and Sadr al-Din al-Shirazi.
